An Exciting Announcement! Impending Book Release!

I am expanding my thesis work, “Echos on Celluloid: The Historic Memory of WWII as Seen Thru Japanese Anime” and will be offering it in book form via Amazon!

In addition to my work on Akira, Paranoia Agent, and Yamato, the book will include two new, exclusive chapters, one focusing on the “War Orphan” trope in Neon Genesis Evangelion and the other on Ghost In The Shell and the loss of Japanese identity. These chapters will ONLY be available in print and will NOT be published here, on my site.

Stay tuned!

  1. Hello! I’m curious if you ever finished writing this book. I really enjoyed the insights from your blog post about Paranoia Agent and would love to read your analysis of NGE.
